What happened? Looking at the data behind the referendum

Tuesday 26th July, 18.30 – 20.30

CoopHQ, 1 Angel Meadows, Manchester M60 0AG

At approximately 7am on Friday 24th June within the gothic splendour of the Great Hall, Manchester Town Hall, Jenny Watson, chairwomen of the Electoral Commission will step forward and announce the result of the European referendum.

The impact of the choice made by the people of the UK will not only impact a generation of UK citizens but have reverberations throughout the European Union and worldwide.Whatever the chosen path, data has had a role to play, but the debate has shown how these data have been partially represented, and often skewed and corrupted.

The referendum should also generate a wealth of data based on voting patterns and polling results. This meeting will look back and analyse what happened, and perhaps indicate how open data can and will be used in the future.

If you are interested in the data behind the referendum and have something to show – we would love to hear from you.

Tickets are free and available here
