#HackTheCity is an event that kicks off real solutions around shared data, partnerships and technology. The outcome will be a series of thought out solutions to city wide issues, with initiatives that will be taken forward and made real.
Key topics of change such as health, policing, environment and transport have been identified as areas that the IoT (Internet of Things) and BigData technologies can affect and are disrupting. A series of four day long hack days will follow this event, where pilots for the ideas and plans put into place during the day will be made by teams of developers and marketers from both private and public entities.
The event is free to attend and we are looking for individuals with a range of different skills who want to experiment with the available city data and processes, learn more about these innovative technologies and have some fun. The day is an opportunity to connect with Nesta’s Digital Innovators’ Network and find out more about the work they are doing to support social innovation across Wales. Y Lab, Cardiff University and Nesta’s public innovation lab for Wales, and TechHub are excited to be working together on this event. We will provide food and drink throughout the event so just come with your laptops, experiences and loads of enthusiasm!
