Beyond the Smart City – Three Day Schedule

After a lot of phone calls, texts, tweets, emails and direct messages we have finalised the line-up for the Beyond the Smart City event, which takes place 25-27 June in Exeter, Devon, UK.

Lots of people have already signed up despite the fact that the schedule wasn’t complete: thanks to you all for showing your trust in us, we know you won’t be disappointed. And if you were waiting for the final line-up, you need wait no longer. So here it is.

Thursday 25th June

Exeter Library 7pm – 9pm: Cream teas, informal networking and lightning talks

Attendees share the things that make their favourite places special. This evening will set the tone for the following days of the conference and workshops, helping us to shape conversations.

Friday 26th June

Met Office 9:30am – 5pm: Beyond the Smart City conference

A day of keynotes and panel discussions, hosted by the Met Office and ODI Devon. The day will be overseen by Carl Haggerty (chair of the LocalGovDigital network) and feature keynotes from:

Saturday 27th June

The Generator, Exeter 10am – 1pm: Practical Workshops

The Saturday gives delegates the opportunity get get a deeper insight into some of the areas covered on the previous day. Each workshop runs for 1 hour and delegates will be able to attend any two of the following:

  • Making Sense in the Smart City – Alastair Somerville
  • Communicating with Open Data – Lucy Knight
  • SQL Saturday technical taster sessions – Pete McCann
  • Open Data in the Enterprise – Martin Howitt
